BlackboxMyCar – Turning Dashcam Curiosity into Conversions

BlackboxMyCar is the largest supplier of dash cams in North America. They’ve built a strong brand, a loyal customer base, and an established YouTube presence. But like many lean teams, they hit a wall — their marketing director is fractional and simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to roll out content consistently. They’ve tried outsourcing before, but managing a team of freelancers across different time zones on Zoom calls turned into more work than it solved. Creative gaps, missed context, and zero momentum.

Meanwhile, their supplier wanted content. Their audience wanted answers. And their YouTube channel needed fresh, helpful videos to keep feeding the funnel.

Strategy: Build Once, Ship All Month

Our solution was to simplify. We set up a single content day each month. One shoot. Five hours. A full month of content. To make that efficient, we had to come prepared — so we did the research ahead of time. We scoured Reddit, DashCamTalk, and other forums to find real questions, complaints, and comparison requests. That turned into scripts and outlines built around what the market was already asking.

We knew the formula: a mix of how-to install guides, product comparison videos, and a bit of entertainment. Let’s be honest — dash cam footage of car crashes and road rage is what makes people click. So we leaned in. We layered stock footage where it made sense, kept the pacing tight, and prioritized clarity over fluff.

But content creation was just the start. For BBMC, we also took over social. We now manage their YouTube, Reddit, and community engagement — answering questions, jumping into threads, and making sure no comment goes ignored. Because if someone’s asking a question, chances are others are too. That kind of responsiveness helps remove barriers to purchase.

Results

It’s still early, but BBMC already knows content drives conversions — it always has. The difference now is that the whole process is streamlined and consistent. They don’t have to worry about briefs, freelancers, or chasing deadlines. We show up, shoot, ship, and handle the rest. What used to be scattered effort is now one clean system: content that gets made, seen, and acted on — every single month.
